LOWELL, Arkansas (LifeSiteNews) — The city council in a small Arkansas town this week passed a resolution declaring their municipality a “Pro-Life City” committed to the “dignity of all life.”
The Lowell City Council approved the measure on Tuesday, affirming that “the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable and should not be denied.” The resolution upholds “Amendment 68 to the Arkansas Constitution,” which “states that the policy of the State of Arkansas is to protect the life of every unborn child from conception until birth to the extent permitted by the United States Constitution.”
Noting the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas had previously passed Act 392 of 2021, which affirmed that cities have the right to declare themselves pro-life, the Lowell City Council resolved that “the City of Lowell declares itself a Pro-Life City.”
