Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson, 20, is sharing her powerful testimony of how God removed the fear that plagued her life not so many years ago. To help others in similar situations find the same peace in God that she found, she’s releasing her new book titled, Live Fearless.
Sadie posted a YouTube video where she talked about the amazing power of God and said,
“If you would have told me three years ago I would have written a book called ‘Live Fearless’ I would have been like ‘no I didn’t’ because I was afraid of everything. Now three years later I am totally free of that fear. I’m just living in freedom through what He has given me and how He has changed me.”
To be free of fear and to know a peace that surpasses all understanding is exactly what Sadie Robertson described.
Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
“For me, my whole idea of living fearless has totally changed. I thought that living fearless was the absence of fear, not having fear in life, and things scary not effecting you but that’s not fully the case because living fearless, it’s not that things aren’t going to be scary, or you’re not going to be in situations that are very fearful, or that fear is going to be in the room, but it’s that when you are in the face of fear, you carry peace. You carry a confident trust. You’re able to speak to that fear knowing that you have victory over it because your God is bigger than any fear in the room.”
Sadie’s right, if we don’t face fears, they will only fester and become worse until they are a trap, holding us back from joining hand in hand with the Father and walking out His purpose in our lives. Just as Sadie said, fearful situations will still arise but it’s the ability to lean into God and put all of the fear of the situation on Him in confidence, trusting that He has the power to carry the burden for you.
We can find this in God’s word in Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” and Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”
