(LifeSiteNews) — A public declaration in support of giving doctors the freedom to administer early treatments for COVID without interference from government authorities has gained over 11,000 signatures, up from 4,000 just a few weeks ago.
The Physicians Declaration Global COVID Summit from Rome, or “Rome Declaration,” has 11,100 signatures as of October 7.
The signatories agree that “the physician-patient relationship must be restored. The very heart of medicine is this relationship, which allows physicians to best understand their patients and their illnesses, to formulate treatments that give the best chance for success, while the patient is an active participant in their care.”
It further resolved that doctors must be free to help their patients make decisions about potentially life-saving COVID treatments.
The declaration said “the political intrusion into the practice of medicine and the physician/patient relationship must end.”
