Australian PM: ‘I’ve always been supportive’ of a pandemic treaty giving World Health Org. more power

DARWIN, Australia (LifeSiteNews) — Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has expressed his support for a “pandemic treaty” that would give the World Health Organization (WHO) more power over its member states in the event of a pandemic.

Morisson made the comment at a Tuesday press conference in Darwin, as he was campaigning for his re-election in the next Australian federal election.

When asked whether he would sign a “pandemic treaty” which would “allow the WHO to direct countries in how they control pandemics,” should he be re-elected, Morisson replied that he has “always been supportive” of the idea.

“I’ve always been supportive right from the outset [and] was criticized heavily, mocked in fact by the Labour Party for saying that the WHO should have those powers and those authorities,” he replied.
