Canada’s state broadcaster kept its own apparent COVID outbreak out of the media

(LifeSiteNews) – The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) had what health officials officially define as a  COVID outbreak at its main headquarters in October that apparently was not reported on by mainstream media.

On October 12, Toronto Public Health (TPH) noted the CBC’s main headquarters in Toronto as having a COVID outbreak, according to a Counter Signal report.

The outbreak at the CBC’s main office was declared after reports of at least two cases of COVID at the building in a two-week time frame.

TPH considers two or more cases at a workplace with 20 or more employees an “outbreak.”

The cases were listed as being detected between October 6 and October 12, according to TPH. The site now shows the outbreak has been declared over, but the number of cases was not made clear.

A look through historical COVID outbreak data on Ontario’s government website does show there were six cases of COVID at workplaces declared October 6 in Toronto, and eight cases on October 12.  However, these numbers do not show the business names associated with the outbreak, only case counts and the fact they were at Toronto workplaces.
