Danielle Smith orders justice minister to draft law protecting the unvaccinated from discrimination

EDMONTON, Alberta (LifeSiteNews) – Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has made good on a promise to offer legal protections to those who choose not to get the COVID jabs by recently ordering her province’s minister of justice to draft a law prohibiting “discrimination” based solely on one’s injection status.  

In a letter dated November 9, 2022, written to Justice Minister Tyler Shandro, Smith in clear terms told him to “Take any necessary legislative or regulatory steps to prohibit discrimination on the basis of COVID-19 vaccination and/or booster status.”  

Smith also ordered Shandro, who used to serve as the province’s health minister, to make sure he “stands” up for the rights of Albertans. 

“The direction I have given to our ministers sends a clear signal that the Alberta government will stand up for Albertans and vigorously defend our ability to develop our resources and economy,” said Smith.  

Last week, Smith sent out multiple “mandate letters” to many of her ministers, which focus on making sure, as she put it, that “unconstitutional federal government overreach into areas of provincial jurisdiction” comes to a stop.
