DeSantis lays out expectations for Florida schools to ‘educate children, not indoctrinate’

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (LifeSiteNews) – Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis offered a simple reminder Tuesday of the expectations for the coming school year under rules he enacted prohibiting ideological and sexual indoctrination in public classrooms.

“As students head back to their classrooms this fall, I’m happy to clear up any ‘confusion’ the media may have about appropriate curriculum,” DeSantis tweeted, followed by a checkmark after “Math, Reading, Writing,” and an X after “CRT, Sexualized Content, Transgender Ideology.”

“Florida schools will educate children, not indoctrinate them,” he declared.

As students head back to their classrooms this fall, I’m happy to clear up any “confusion” the media may have about appropriate curriculum:

Last year, DeSantis announced a state curriculum overhaul that would “expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated theories,”
