Elon Musk refuses to block Russian news sources on his Starlink internet service

(LifeSiteNews) — Elon Musk announced Saturday that he would not block access to Russian media sources on his Starlink internet service to Russia, in spite of being pressured by several governments to do so in protest over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by Musk’s company SpaceX. The service provides internet access coverage to most of the world.

“Starlink has been told by some governments (not Ukraine) to block Russian news sources,” Musk tweeted. “We will not do so unless at gunpoint. Sorry to be a free speech absolutist.”

Musk is also providing Starlink service to Ukraine at the request its government, due to internet disruptions in Kyiv and across the country.
