PHOENIX (LifeSiteNews) – The FBI is analyzing a “suspicious white powder” delivered Saturday to the campaign office of Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake.
“Yesterday, one of Kari’s staffers opened up an envelope that had a suspicious white powder in it and had a letter in there with a bunch of vulgarities and ranting and raving about Kari,” a source close to the campaign told Conservative Brief on Sunday.
The source added that the employee “noticed [a] second package that was exactly like the first one she had opened and she reported it.”
According to a Phoenix Police spokesman, officers arrived at the scene at 10:15 p.m. and left at 5 a.m., the Daily Beast shared. Lake’s campaign staff said the FBI, a hazmat team, and a bomb squad also responded to the scene.
The suspicious items will undergo analysis at an Arizona laboratory, a law enforcement source told CNN.
Lake’s campaign headquarters remains shut down, and the staffer who discovered the package is currently under medical supervision, according to a campaign spokesperson. No injuries have yet been reported.
