Ohio judge with pro-abortion track record blocks ‘premature enforcement’ of pro-life law

CINCINNATI (LifeSiteNews) — An Ohio judge has blocked an anti-infanticide law.

Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alison Hatheway “granted a preliminary injunction blocking the premature enforcement of Senate Bill 157, a law that would allow the Department of Health to revoke ambulatory surgical licenses and threatens to shut down procedural abortion services in Southwest Ohio,” ACLU Ohio announced on Friday.

The organization did not include a copy of the order in its news release, but Judge Hatheway has previously ruled that the abortion industry would “likely” succeed in its attempt to block the anti-infanticide law.

Judge Hatheway, who is a Democrat, has been a reliable judge for the abortion industry.

The ACLU and Planned Parenthood previously sued on February 25 to stop the law and convinced Hatheway to rule in their favor.

She previously ruled on January 31 that the required burial or cremation of aborted babies raised “due-process” and “equal-protection” concerns. 

SB 157 requires medical care for infants who survive abortions. It also requires abortion facilities to have back-up doctors who have admitting privileges with local hospitals or hire OB/GYNS who have them.
