The Focus for Wednesday, June 19th:
Part 3 of V1SUT’s Harmful Coaching Series & One Whistleblower’s Fight to Protect Children of Today
Our Harmful Coaching series is exposing a public education culture too frequently void of accountability for perpetrators within their own ranks. With the coming release of Part 3, the podcast welcomes Ashley Rolen, a victim turned child advocate who’s spent more than four years forcing the system to respond to her report of being drugged and raped by a high school teacher/coach (see Part 1).
After being brushed off by the State Department of Education and instructed to conduct her own investigation in 2020, Rolen collected and submitted the statements of other female classmates who were similarly abused. To date, the agency has done nothing substantive to investigate or remove the reported perpetrators from public schools.
Rolen’s efforts are shining light in dark places, as a culture of abuse within many districts has habitually allowed accused teachers to quietly step down and move on to other districts.
Rolen’s is a story of trauma, faith, healing, selflessness, persistence and heroism that you won’t want to miss.
