Another leak in a major abortion case at the U.S. Supreme Court has revealed that the high court will temporarily allow abortions in Idaho when a woman’s health is at risk.
This is one of the most eagerly anticipated opinions of this term, and it was published online briefly today before being removed. A court spokeswoman said the post was a mistake and the opinion will officially be issued soon.
Bloomberg News reports the opinion showed a majority of the court agreed to dismiss the case involving Idaho’s abortion ban and to reinstate a lower court ruling that undermines Idaho’s law.
But Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson reportedly wrote that the court’s decision will leave the issues at the heart of the case unresolved.
