Last Friday, this publication had the privilege of again meeting by podcast with Reclaim Oklahoma Parent Empowerment (ROPE), a statewide champion for parental rights. We talked about recent revelations at Oklahoma’s Western Heights Public Schools (WH) including the hiring of practicing drag queen Shane Murnan as ES principal despite previous arrests for possession of child pornography and drugs, as well as an aggravated DUI stop that resulted in no legal consequences. We also discussed disturbing trends as observed at the most recent WH school board meeting that have removed power from the board, superintendent and parents.
On the same day as the podcast, multiple sources inform that Murnan returned to his position at John Glenn ES and was thrown a Welcome Back Party. Despite directives from State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters, Western Heights is doubling down.
