US men’s soccer team unveils pro-LGBT crest ahead of 2022 World Cup in Qatar

(LifeSiteNews) – The US men’s soccer team made a pro-LGBT political statement ahead of its upcoming appearance at the World Cup in Qatar, where homosexual “marriage” is outlawed and sodomy punishable by jail. 

Instead of relying on the traditional red, white, and blue color scheme for its crest, the team unveiled a rainbow-themed logo inside Al Gharrafa SC Stadium, where it will practice and hold media events for the duration of the tournament.

The US team — which faces Wales on Monday, November 21 — won’t wear the LGBT patch on its uniforms while competing, however. US coach Gregg Berhalter told reporters this week that “it is important to bring awareness to these issues.” Players have also expressed support for the badge. 

According to the UK-based Daily Mail, England’s soccer team is also upset about Qatar’s staunch support for traditional marriage. The outlet is reporting that the team will fly to the World Cup
