RICHMOND, Virginia (LifeSiteNews) – A Virginia doctor was awarded a commendation by the state legislature for his advances in alternative COVID treatments, only to be notified a few days later by the state’s medical licensing board that he was under investigation for these same treatments.

On March 11, 2022, the Virginia House of Delegates honored Dr. Paul Marik, founder of Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), for “his courageous treatment of critically ill COVID-19 patients.” The resolution passed with unanimous approval. Then on March 15, the Virginia Department of Health Professions sent Marik a letter notifying him that they were conducting an investigation into his medical practices for his COVID-19 treatments.

According to the Epoch Times, the investigation claims to be based on complaints from Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, where Marik directed the intensive-care unit until he was suspended on November 18, 2021, for prescribing ivermectin and other alternative treatments for COVID-19 instead of remdesivir. The Department of Health also claimed to base the investigation on alleged accusations from a COVID patient who accused Marik of harm resulting from the use of ivermectin.
