White House condemns Florida parental rights in education law as it takes effect

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (LifeSiteNews) – The White House condemned Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill that went into partial effect Friday.  

According to provisions of the law, sexuality and gender theory cannot be discussed in K-3 classrooms. Further, discussion about sexuality and gender theory must be “age appropriate” above the third grade. Parents can sue school districts and teachers under the bill if they feel the law has been violated. 

Florida law now officially prohibits injecting sexuality and gender ideology into elementary school curriculum.

According to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the bill also “ensures that at the beginning of every school year, parents will be notified about healthcare services offered at the school, with the right to decline any service offered.”
