Young people expose damage caused by LGBT movement on ‘Detrans Awareness Day’

(LifeSiteNews) — Young people who said they’d been mislead and severely damaged by participating in the transgender movement took to social media on March 12 as part of a “Detrans Awareness Day” event hosted by nonpartisan organization Genspect.

In posts and videos that went viral over the weekend, social media users who identified themselves as “detransitioners” shared personal photos and stories highlighting the trauma they underwent as participants in the transgender movement. Each post shared on March 12 bore the hashtag #DetransAwarenessDay.

“Detransitioners have been badly treated by society, and we owe it to them to show up, lend them our ears, and make sure that others also hear about these issues,” wrote Irish psychologist Stella O’Malley, who founded Genspect to help parents and children work through issues related to gender identity.
