North Korea offered a conditional moratorium on its nuclear and missile tests in a bid to hold talks with the United States.
North Korea Ambassador to India Kye Chun-Yong stated that Pyongyang would be willing to cease nuclear tests if their conditions are met.
“If our demands is met, we can negotiate in terms of the moratorium of such as weapons testing,” Kye said in English in an interview posted on the website of India’s television station WION.
One of the key demands is that the US cease its military drills in South Korea, which North Korea sees as a rehearsal for invasions. However, South Korea’s new President Moon Jae-in stated that they have no plans to scale back joint military operations with the United States.
