How did Ezekiel described angels?
According to the prophet Isaiah, the Seraphim is an angelic being that surrounds the throne of God singing “holy, holy, holy” in unison to God’s approach. The prophet describes them as having six wings, two of which are for flying, while they use the rest to cover their heads and feet.
In the Book of Revelation we read where each had four faces and four wings, and under their wings was what looked like the hands of a man. Seven angels are given seven bowls of God’s wrath, each consisting of judgements full of the wrath of God. These seven bowls of God’s wrath are poured out on the wicked and the followers of the Antichrist after the sounding of the seven trumpets.
John continued;
“And they were was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion.”
They are NOT naked babies, sitting on a cloud, with wings playing a harp.
They are spirit beings and can take a form of a physical body, remember the two angels that came to Sodom in the evening. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth. They appeared to look like men because the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house and wanted them.
Then we have Hebrews 13:2 that reads;
‘Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares’
Those angels look human because you can entertain them unawares.
These cherubs can be messengers, like Gabriel, who told Marry of her immaculate conception. Other angels in the Old Testament acted on God’s behalf, as did the angel of death in the Passover story or Michael, the archangel who comes from heaven.
I believe angels will protect us as per Psalms 91:11-12 “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone”
IF we ever saw what angels do daily for us to protect us and wrestle with demons in the spiritual realm that we never see, nor do we want too. IF we saw all the spiritual warfare around us we will never want to walk outside.
Our President when he walks outside has a circle of secret service around walking in step with him for one reason. To protect the President. That’s what it looks like in the spiritual world with angels around us protecting us from things we may never see.
In the letter to the church in Corinth, the apostle Paul tells us that believers will not only judge the world but also judge angels: “Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world. Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life” (1 Corinthians 6:2-3). I believe this to be judging of the fallen angels or we will grade the angels that protected us.
Demons were once fallen angels. And angels will follow Jesus when He returns “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works”
Matthew 16:27
“When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory”
Matthew 25:31
It is very common to hear testimonies of angels appearing to Christians with a message. I believe that is possible, I just question those testimonies with reason.
The Bible is very clear that when angels appeared to people, those cherubs started the conversation with two words….”FEAR NOT”
Here are a few examples:
Genesis 21:1-21; Daniel 10:8-19; Matthew 1:20’ Matthew 28:1-10; Luke 1:11-13; Luke 1:30; Luke 2:9-11; Acts 27:1-26.
If someone had an angel visit them they would fall on the floor in fear. But when we hear these testimonies, these angels talk to people like they are buddies and old friends. Whereas in the Bible the examples were people fell to the ground in fear. So I question those testimonies with reason.
