Are You Saved?

Saved from what….sin….death….Judgment Day….hellfire…from the love of God….what are you saved from?

How many people are really saved vs how many people believe they are saved.

To answer that question, let’s look at the Bible

We find Red Letters that read;

“ Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. ”

Matthew 7:13-14

Note the words MANY leadeth to destruction and FEW leadeth unto life

Not everyone that says a sinners prayer is going to heaven;

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter."

Matthew 7:21

Jesus said;

“ Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?"

Luke 6:46

Matthew 22:14 reads;

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” 

Luke 13:23-24 reads;

“And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able."

Note the word “seek” those people seeked to enter AND DID NOT MAKE IT

There are certain groups that believe all mankind will be saved, however 2 Thessalonians 3:2 reads;

“and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. ”

This has been since the Old Testament as Paul writes;

“Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “Though the number of the sons of Israel be like the sand of the sea, it is the remnant that will be saved; ”

Romans 9:27

I cannot give you a number but I will use the words ‘few’ and ‘remnant’ will be saved.

Charles Spurgeon said that he doubts the salvation of 80% of his own congregation.

Leonard Ravenhill said that he doubts if 2% of the Christians in the USA are truly born again.

I will end with this question from 1 Peter 4:18;

“And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner?”
