The Carr fire is blazing through California and has so far caused sixth deaths, destruction to over 650 homes and in its wake has left seven people missing.
The fire initially broke out on July 23rd, 2018 and threatens over five thousand structures.
Just 230 miles north of San Francisco, Redding, California has fallen victim to the Carr fire. So far tens of thousands of people have been forced from their homes as a result of the deadly blazes.
The fire has claimed the lives of two firefighters, two children and their great-grandmother, and a sixth unidentified person.
A massive tree struck one of the firefighters as he was battling the blazes. National Parks Officials say thirty-three-year-old Brain Hughes died on Sunday near the fire line.
Hughes, originally from Hawaii, was with California’s Arrowhead Interagency Hotshots and after only four years obtained the rank of Captain.
On July 26th, 2018 the fire ‘jumped’ the Sacramento River which led to the mandatory evacuations for Redding, California.
