(LifeSiteNews) – Some Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) Members of Parliament (MPs) came out blasting COVID jab mandates as “discriminatory,” saying rapid testing options should also be allowed to those who choose not to get the injections.
Mark Strahl, British Columbia CPC MP for Chilliwack-Hope, said his party believes in “choice for Canadians” and that “where people need to be vaccinated they should have another option like rapid testing,” according to Western Standard report.
Strahl is concerned about constituents who “are being told if they’re unable to be vaccinated they’re going to be fired.”
“I think that’s discriminatory,” said Strahl, adding he believes it’s also “punitive.”
“I don’t think it actually serves a public health purpose,” he added. “Those are the people I’m fighting for. I’m not here to fight for myself.”
Alberta CPC MP Glen Motz for Medicine Hat-Cardston said there are many “Canadians who are at risk of losing their jobs because of vaccine mandates and I think that’s a concern for many.”
“I have not disclosed my health status to anybody. I think the whole issue is a distraction. I think Trudeau’s done a great job of dividing Canadians, period,” added Motz, according to the Western Standard report.
