BERLIN (LifeSiteNews) — A 17-year-old girl in Germany was severely beaten and had to be taken to hospital after she refused to wear a mask in a streetcar.
The incident took place Saturday in a Berlin streetcar and started when six travelers began verbally assaulting a young woman for not wearing a mask despite a public transport mask mandate currently in place in Germany.
According to German daily newspaper Die Welt, some of the travelers also shouted racist slurs at the young woman.
The altercation escalated when she and the six travelers got off the streetcar at one of the stations. There, she was held to the ground, violently kicked and beaten, according to police.
In addition, one of her six attackers, a woman, pulled out some of her hair.
Thanks to a video of the incident recorded by the victim, the police was able to recognize one of the men involved from past incidents. He and two other suspects were then arrested in a nearby pub.
The three men (who denied the charges) were intoxicated, and narcotics were found on one of them.
