Democrat-led January 6 Committee approves resolution to subpoena Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — The January 6 Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives voted unanimously on Thursday to subpoena former U.S. President Donald Trump as Democrats scramble to scrape up support ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

The Committee approved the resolution in a 9-0 vote, formally directing the committee chairman to subpoena Trump “for documents and testimony in connection with the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol.”

Prior to offering the resolution, Committee vice chairwoman Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming told the Committee they were “obligated to seek answers directly from the man who set this all in motion,” urging them to “act now to protect our Republic.”
