(LifeSiteNews) — Well-known Canadian journalist Anthony Furey announced he has left his role with the large mainstream media outlet Postmedia to join the independently run True North Centre.
“It’s no great secret to say that a lot of people are unhappy about the state of media today. They read supposedly unbiased stories that right from the first sentence are clearly pushing some sort of agenda,” said Furey in a Twitter video post on Tuesday.

“Increasingly, news coverage is about focusing on fringe niche issues that whatever you think of them, they don’t really have much to do with the daily lives of most Canadians,” added the former Toronto Sun reporter.
Furey said he will now serve as True North’s Vice President of Editorial and Content, where he will be overseeing the conservative-leaning outlets newsroom.
He has been one of Postmedia’s most prominent journalists for some time, writing notable opinion pieces questioning the COVID lockdown narrative in both the National Post and Toronto Sun, making him one of the few legacy media journalist to do so.
