(LifeSiteNews) — On this week’s episode of The Bishop Strickland Show, Bishop Joseph Strickland reminds us how crucial it is to vote with a well-formed conscience and choose candidates who broadly align with Christian values.

His Excellency believes abortion remains the premiere issue confronting voters in the U.S. midterm elections.

“I still believe the bedrock, foundational issue is the sanctity of life, and the very base of that is the sanctity of the life of the unborn, those newly conceived in the womb,” he says.

Voting with a well-formed conscience, as Bishop Strickland notes, starts by “embracing the truth that Christ has revealed” and “that the Church has taught for two millennia.”

No candidate for political office is perfect, and many candidates are openly hostile to the values of the Church, but with a well-formed conscience we can have greater confidence in determining which candidates are “at least not diametrically opposed to the values of the Gospel.”
