Canadian Muslim accuses Trudeau gov’t of having him suspended from X for protesting LGBT ideology

OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian Muslim planning a major protest against the LGBT agenda is claiming that the federal government under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had him suspended from X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. 

On August 1, Kamel El-Cheikh, an Ottawa businessman and Muslim activist against LGBT indoctrination in schools, announced that his account on X had been suspended at the request of the Trudeau government under its internet censorship law, Bill C-11. 

According to El-Cheikh, X and its owner Elon Musk are not to blame for his suspension. Instead, he said that someone from his team was told that “the Trudeau government made that personal request” to have his account removed under Bill C-11.  

Passed in April 2023, Bill C-11 mandates that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) be in charge of regulating online content on platforms to ensure that such platforms are promoting content in accordance with a variety of CRTC guidelines.
