Manitoba premier promises to protect parental rights in education if re-elected this fall

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (LifeSiteNews) –– Premier of Manitoba Heather Stefanson has promised that should her Progressive Conservative government be re-elected this fall, she will enhance parental rights by mandating that schools inform parents if their child wants to identify as a different “gender.”

At a press conference last week, Stefanson said, “We believe that parents know what is in the best interest of their children.”  

“That’s why a re-elected PC government will formalize and enhance rights for parents and guardians in the Public Schools Act,” she added.

Stefanson said that her party is hearing that “parents want to be better informed so they can make decisions on behalf of their children.”
