1 Corinthians 10:12,13
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Father God I do not deserve Your mercy or grace – I am not worthy to gather the crumbs from under Your table but I thank You that I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb and in Jesus name am able to approach Your throne for the grace and strength I need to keep me from falling, so that I may walk in Your ways and live godly in Christ Jesus.
Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
I pray that You would teach me to draw my strength from Your fathomless resources rather than to rely on my own limited supply. Teach me to trust my life into Your hands completely and to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life, so that I may walk in spirit and truth. Teach me what it really means in Your word when it says “without me you can do nothing,” so that I may learn the truth – that “I can do all things through Christ Jesus, Who gives me the strength” I ask this in Jesus name
Hebrews 2:18
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
2 Peter 2:9
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Thank you Lord Jesus for setting us free from the bondage of the law!
Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
O Lord, my God, keep me pure within that I may live a clean, pure life that will not disgrace Thee.
James 1:13-14
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Proverbs 28:13
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Lord, I desire to be faithful, but I have yielded to temptation on so many occasions and though I have tried so hard to live up to my own standards and resolution.. each time I have failed and fallen short. Lord, I know that I have tried to resist in my own strength and I confess that I cant do this by myself any more.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 Peter 5:8-9
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
I declare that through God I am strong. I put on the whole armor of God that I may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, and I take up the shield of faith quenching all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6: 10, 11, 16
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Dear Lord Jesus I know that my flesh desires to do what is contrary to the leading of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, and that the new life in Christ, which I received when I was born again, is constantly in conflict with the old sin nature – which was severed at the cross but which still seeks to rule my life. Lord I know that sin is certainly crouching at my door and seeking to devour me – but I do believe that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world and that in the power of the Holy Spirit I am able to resist the many temptations that entice towards sin.
1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
James 1: 2, 3, 12
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Jude 24, 25
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 1:6,7
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
