WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – President Joe Biden remains positive for COVID-19, the White House confirmed Wednesday, almost two weeks after first contracting the virus and one week after sharing a negative test result.

The administration announced Biden’s initial diagnosis on July 21, the same day he tested positive for the virus. He had “mild symptoms, mostly rhinorrhea (or ‘runny nose’) and fatigue, with an occasional dry cough,” according to presidential physician Kevin O’Connor, and quickly began taking the drug Paxlovid.

On July 27, the president announced via Twitter he had tested negative and would be ending isolation. Three days later, however, he announced he had tested positive again but was asymptomatic. O’Connor said that such “rebounds” happen with “a small percentage” of patients who receive Paxlovid.
