While at the store, an unnamed individual was attempting to purchase flowers for his beloved when his card was declined. Knowing there were monies available in the account, he began to look around and notice that he was not the only one being declined.

Shortly thereafter, while at Marks and Spencer’s store, in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, off the coast of Normandy, others began to question what was going on, then someone said this just happened at Waitrose, another store nearby. After continual happenings of the card being declined by the unnamed individual, he began to call friends in the United Kingdom, and they said it’s happening all over.

Immediately, people started heading for the ATM, cash machines, and by the time he arrived there, roughly twenty people were in line waiting to get money out. Incredibly, people in the lines began to chatter about what they could trade for goods out of fear that something catastrophic had occurred.

According to SkyNews which broke the story only minutes ago, Visa is having an outage that is hitting customers and business owners across Europe.

“Visa is currently experiencing a service disruption. This incident is preventing some Visa transactions in Europe from being processed,” a Visa spokesperson told Sky News.

“We are investigating the cause and working as quickly as possible to resolve the situation,” they added.

Roughly two hours after the problems began to occur, some cards are now working “intermittently.”

However, the cause and extent of the crash remain unknown, nor have they stated whether retailers would be compensated for lost earnings.
