Democrats worry Marxist Cornel West’s third-party bid could blow up Biden’s 2024 chances

(LifeSiteNews) — As Republicans continue to debate which of their candidates stands the best chance of retaking the presidency in 2024, some Democrats are beginning to worry about a third-party candidacy by leftist academic Cornel West complicating their own prospects for holding onto the White House.

West, a former Harvard, Yale, and Princeton professor who espouses Marxism and black liberation theology, announced last month he would be running for president as a member of the People’s Party but later changed affiliations to seek the Green Party nomination, enlisting 2016 Green presidential nominee Jill Stein to help manage his campaign.

The Hill reports that West’s bid is causing consternation among Democrats who fear the possibility of a left-wing third candidate siphoning just enough votes from them to deliver the GOP a victory.

“This is not the time in order to experiment.
