Dr. Simone Gold begins serving 60-day prison sentence for entering Capitol on Jan. 6

(LifeSiteNews) — Medical freedom champion Dr. Simone Gold is beginning her jail term of 60 days for a misdemeanor count of entering the “restricted” grounds of the Capitol building on January 6, 2021.

Dr. Gold, the America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) foundress, “has surrendered herself to the government and will spend the next 60 days of her life locked inside of a cell for exercising her right to free speech inside of the Capitol building, which she was let into with open doors,” announced an AFLDS press release Tuesday.

Not aware that she was in a restricted area, like many January 6th defendants, Gold had peacefully entered the Capitol on January 6, where she gave a speech at Statuary Hall on her opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates and government-imposed lockdowns,” according to MedPage.

Gold’s sentence is unusually severe for her misdemeanor charge. Most of those who merely entered the Capitol on January 6 without any disorderly conduct, who have already been charged, were sentenced with probation without any
