Description:
Okanogan County officials updated the fire size today to a confirmed 215,000 acres. The size was calculated at 1 a.m. using infrared imaging systems, officials said, noting the unofficial size was 237,890 "heat acres." Officials were working this morning to calculate the official size, which is larger than the 2006 Tripod Fire Complex that raged from August until October in Okanogan National Forest. Both the Tripod and Carlton complex fires were started by lightning.
