Illegal immigrant gets life in prison for raping 9-year-old who later got abortion

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio (LifeSiteNews) — An illegal alien who raped a young girl in Ohio last year, causing her to conceive a child who was later killed via abortion in Indiana, was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison. Abortion activists have used the case to argue in favor of abortion “access” even though babies aren’t at fault for the conditions of their conception and abortion can result in additional trauma for rape victims.

Twenty-eight-year-old Guatemalan national Gerson Fuentes pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of rape after he impregnated the then-nine-year-old daughter of his live-in girlfriend in Franklin County, Ohio, last year. 

The rape victim, who turned 10 shortly thereafter, was taken across state lines to Indiana for an abortion after Ohio began enforcing restrictions on abortion following the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 2022 decision to overturn the federal “right to abortion” established in Roe v. Wade (1973).

According to the Indianapolis Star, the girl was reportedly six weeks and three days pregnant when she sought the abortion. 

On Wednesday, the girl’s attacker was sentenced
