(LifeSiteNews) – Vice President Kamala Harris claimed to speak for what legal abortion “means to real people, including children” Monday, in remarks that raised many an eyebrow for their macabre irony.

Speaking to a group of Indiana lawmakers, Harris invoked the case of a 10-year-old girl raped in Ohio and taken to Indiana for an abortion.

“So that is the context in which we meet and fight,” she said. “This has created a healthcare crisis in America. And as has been said, Indiana has already been on the forefront of this very issue, as Representative Pryor described one of the more publicized and well-known cases, in terms of what this issue means to real people, including children.”
