Northern Alabama Struck With Small Earthquake

If you live near Hillsboro or Trinity, Alabama you may have felt the recorded tremor that the USGS reported today. According to the report, A small earthquake was detected Saturday morning near Hillsboro and Trinity in northern Alabama. A magnitude 2.7 Earthquake occurred at approximately 7:56 a.m., according to the USGS. The earthquake reportedly occurred about 1.8 miles below the earth surface.

This quake occurred about four miles from Hillsboro, four miles from Trinity and 10 miles from Moulton and nearly 10 miles from Decatur. Reports indicate that Another small earthquake was felt on Tuesday near Fort Payne and Last month a small earthquake was recorded near Birmingham, Alabama.
