A Camas man was critically injured Saturday when a jealous girlfriend stabbed him with a samurai sword, according to the Camas Police Department.

Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call at 1:54 a.m. Saturday at 2013 N.E. Garfield St., a two-story home in a residential neighborhood near Helen Baller Elementary School.

“The 911 caller, identified as 30-year-old Emily Javier, reported that she had just stabbed her boyfriend with a sword and thought he was dead,” Camas police said in a press release.

When police arrived, Javier was walking out of the house and into the front yard with her hands up, surrendering, police said. She was placed into custody without incident.

Javier’s boyfriend of two years, 29-year-old Alex Lovell, was found inside their shared house with several life-threatening injuries, according to police.
