JERUSALEM, Israel – Israel’s military says troops shot a Palestinian man during an arrest raid early Monday morning in the city of Nablus located in the West Bank – biblical Judea and Samaria. A Palestinian news agency said the man died of his injuries.
According to the military, troops searched a home in Nablus and arrested a man after discovering a machine gun in his possession. As they were leaving the area, the officers were attacked by a group throwing explosives at them, the army said.
They opened fire and hit one of the attackers, who was taken away by Palestinian paramedics. The Wafa news agency identified the man as Jamil Kayyal, 31, adding that he was killed after being shot in the head.
Two other Palestinians were wounded when hit by an Israeli military Jeep, Palestinian officials said.

There were no casualties among the Israeli troops.
Israel regularly carries out arrest raids in the West Bank to thwart planned or potential terror attacks. Last month Israel uncovered a major terror cell planning attacks against Israelis.
During those raids, often faces opposition from local Palestinians.
