Poland places fighter jets at the disposal of the US, calls on NATO allies to do the same

WARSAW (LifeSiteNews) — Polish authorities say they made an arrangement with the United States to have their fighter jets at America’s disposal while encouraging other NATO nations to do the same.

“The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the President and the Government, are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Ramstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Poland posted Tuesday on its official website.

“At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft [sic] with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes,” added the Polish government, adding a request that “other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets” act in “the same vein.”

The move comes as tensions between Russia and Ukraine continue despite heavy sanctions placed on Russia by NATO nations since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began over a week ago.
