Rand Paul warns Fauci’s retirement won’t allow him to escape Senate investigation

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – Dr. Anthony Fauci will still face an investigation into his potential role and knowledge of the possibility that COVID-19 leaked from a Chinese lab funded by U.S. taxpayer dollars, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) announced.

Fauci, who has dictated COVID policies for over two and a half years now, will step down in December. He has faced questions about the government’s role in funneling taxpayer dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which conducts dangerous gain-of-function research and is located near the wet market where COVID supposedly began to spread.

The mainstream media along with Facebook originally suppressed or downplayed the possibility that the Wuhan lab played a role in the creation of the COVID-19 virus, before backtracking.

Paul and Fauci have often clashed over the latter’s COVID response.

“Fauci’s resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic,” the senator, who is also a physician, tweeted on Monday. “He will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak.”
