Trump blasts ’target letter’ from Biden DOJ in January 6 probe

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — The Department of Justice (DOJ) asked President Donald Trump to appear in Washington in front of a grand jury as part of prosecutor Jack Smith’s probe into January 6.

President Trump announced the news on Truth Social that he received a “target letter,” which requested his presence. It does not formally mean Trump has been charged but “the letter serves as an indication that an indictment is likely coming soon,” according to CBS News.

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Tuesday night.

“THE DEMOCRAT PROSECUTORS WAITED YEARS TO BRING CHARGES SO THAT THEY COULD INTERFERE WITH THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. THEY ARE GETTING, HOWEVER, BIG BLOWBACK!!!,” he wrote in a subsequent post.
