(LifeSiteNews) — Since the Russain invasion, Ukrainian media has been tightly controlled. Reporters Without Borders has noted in March 2023 that “Journalists are now denied access to more than 50 municipalities in Ukraine for reporting purposes.”
Ukraine’s Institute for Mass Information (IMI) is the sister organization to this international group campaigning for journalistic freedom. Its website details some of the use of what it calls “Black PR” – internet based paid influence – in the 2019 Parliamentary elections in Ukraine: “Analysts found over half a million fake comments over six weeks.”

The report noted that “most of the trolls appeared where President Volodymyr Zelensky was mentioned.” Half of these were “positive or neutral” about Zelensky
