Seventy-six individuals across eight states have been arrested after The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation ran a successful operation against child pornography.
Investigators from eight US states including; Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia worked together to thwart the continued distribution, abuse, and exploitation of children.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation stated on Friday that the operation took months of planning and involved well over 200 law enforcement agencies.
The operation rescued several children from abusive situations including at least eight children from North Carolina. The accused included individuals from an age range of 17 to 73 and included a postal worker, mechanic, daycare administrator, and magician.
Over the last several months operations such as this one have been successful, just last year in California, police arrested 474 individuals and rescued 28 children during a statewide human trafficking operation.
