Sheriff’s deputy fired for robbing a bank

A North Carolina sheriff’s deputy was fired after he allegedly robbed a bank Tuesday.

Jeff Athey was arrested and charged with robbing the bank at around 4 p.m., Davidson County Sheriff David Grice said, Fox 8 reported.

Grice said Athey was terminated immediately after he carried out the crime.

Nobody was hurt during the robbery and Athey submitted to the arresting officers, Grice said.
