(FOX NEWS) Pope Francis has suggested he wants to make a change to The Lord’s Prayer, widely known among the faithful as the “Our Father.”

Specifically, the Catholic leader said in an interview Wednesday he would prefer to adjust the phrase “lead us not into temptation,” saying that it too strongly suggested that God leads people to sin.

“That is not a good translation,” the pope said, according to Reuters.

The phrase “do not let us fall into temptation,” which the Catholic Church in France has previously decided to use, would be a more appropriate alternative, Francis said.

The Pope is making a biblical blunder. The Bible teaches it was God/The Holy Spirit that led Jesus to be tempted by Satan. So, yes, God can lead us and allow us to be tempted. God is not the source of the temptation. But He is our source of strength to overcome temptation, so temptation does not become sin.

He doesn’t think that he is “god on earth.”

John Pittman wrote,

“I am a Born Again Christian & I must say that everyone is so warned NOT to ever change the Holy Bible or Scripture .”

So is Martin Luther wrong for throwing out 7 Books out of the O.T. and parts of 2 others? He also wanted to throw out 4 Books out of the New. Also, how do you account for all of the myriad of Bible translations that we have now? Are they changing the Scriptures?

“God is not some toy & the Pope sure keeps treating him & his HOLY WORD as if he can change or do anything he Want’s to it & play around with it as if it were a toy”

Cannot the same be said of the Evangelical/Fundamentalist/Protestant movement? One can get divorced and remarried and one is still considered “saved.” This goes against the Holy word of God. This is just but one example. The list goes on.

Everybody has an opinion. I happen to recite the Lord’s prayer sometimes when I say a prayer and I don’t believe it’s in vain. Do I always recite the Lord’s prayer when I pray, no. But I see nothing in it that would make it in vain. When you call upon the Lord even if you say ” Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallow be Thy name” how is that in vain.

If God created all things I guess he created the Devil and evil. And I heard the angels do not have free will? Looks like some of them found some. Tired and had to rest after creating the Universe. Took 3 DAYS to kick Satan out of Heaven? And when Satan wanted to challenge was it Job? He appeared before God in Heaven. So let me get this strait. Satan can just walse into Heaven and be like what up? Rude, didn’t even knock. And if you went on a vacation leaving 2 kids at home with access to guns, alcohol, and car keys you’d be thrown in jail when that train wrecks. Tree of Knowledge was way more dangerous. Very irresponsible.
