(AL.com) — Dr. Willie Parker grew up poor in a close-knit Birmingham neighborhood in the 1960s and 70s. As a teen, he experienced a spiritual awakening that kindled a deep Christian faith.
Parker became the first in his family to attend college, and then medical school – where he specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. Over time, his Christian faith and his approach to medicine changed until both led him down the path to becoming one of just a few abortion doctors in the South.
Parker has returned to his hometown, and on April 4, releases his first book, Life’s Work: A Moral Argument for Choice. Recently Parker spoke about his life and his journey – which has been condensed in the following conversation.

Hi listened to the video wow that hurts what about Proverbs 6:16-19. God hate hands that shed innocent blood. Are you kidding me it’s insane this man is spiritually blind and he needs Jesus Christ! Righteous anger is rooted in both the word of God and the Holy Spirit. The bad anger is rooted in self… I think everyone that watched the video got a little angry at least be cause that goes so against the spirit…
